A letter to myself *30th birthday

Dear self,

Today you turned 30. It was a day filled with lots of emotions. Some moments were up and some moments were down. The majority of today’s moments were bursting with love and joy. There were sad moments too; moments where you wished you were much further along then you are and moments where you felt like OMG I’m getting up there.

Today as I celebrated a milestone birthday I realized that life doesn’t always work out the way we hope and dream and want. But I am pretty sure the Rolling Stones had the right idea- you don’t always get what you want, but you get what you need.

Self, as you celebrated 30 today you got what you needed. A wonderful, talented and awesome son, a wonderful guy who worships the ground you walk on and a family that cares about you reciprocated. Today on your 30th you spent time with God and had an attitude of gratitude. Gratitude for the things most important; family, friends and your health.

Remember that in life there can be joy even in the midst of sorrow. When you seek God and make him the center of your life you can do anything.

I’m so proud of you. I’m proud of your resilience and strength and love. I’m so proud of your immensely. How you keep going despite many obstacles. How you show love when sometimes it’s not easy.

Welcome to a new decade and new adventures and a whole lotta love.
